Members of the University of Utah campus and community were invited to a candlelight vigil to remember the life of student-athlete Aaron Lowe. The event was held on the southwest lawn of the A Ray Olpin Student Union.
The vigil included a program featuring several speakers, including University of Utah President Taylor Randall, Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) Student Body President Jess Wojciechowski, and Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Lori McDonald. Other scheduled speakers included Athletics Director Mark Harlan, Coach Whittingham, and select student-athletes.
To mark the occasion, the block U on the hill was lit from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Candles were made available for attendees while supplies lasted.
The event was located at 200 Central Campus Drive in Salt Lake City. Media and attendees were directed to park in the visitors' lot to the east of the building at no charge.
