The Spring City Board of Adjustment met on Monday, March 3, 2025, to consider variance requests regarding road widths for the Strate-Up Subdivision, according to meeting minutes. The board ultimately approved the requested variances for both the subdivision main access road and an existing road.
The meeting, which was called to order at 6:33 p.m., centered on a request from Randy Strate for two specific variances. Strate requested to use a 44-foot wide road for the subdivision's main access road, which deviates from the 82.5-foot width required by the city code. Additionally, Strate sought approval for a 41.25-foot width for the existing road that runs west from Main Street at approximately 700 North toward the county and the Spring City Sewer Lagoons.
During the meeting, Strate presented information to demonstrate that the five tests established by the State of Utah for granting a variance had been satisfied. Following discussion, the board voted to approve the 41.25-foot width for the sewer pond road. The motion included a provision that if the county or Planning and Zoning requires a 66-foot easement, the remaining space must be dedicated by property owners on the north side of that road.
The board also voted to approve the 44-foot width for the road and utility easement for the subdivision main road. The meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
The meeting was attended by board members Becky Holbrook Brunner, Ted Hinckley, Tim Clark, Selicia Mackay, and Aaron Sorensen, along with City Treasurer Whit Allred. Other attendees included Tom Brunner, Randy Strate, Kristen Mortensen, and Craig Paulsen.
