While levels at Winslow have fallen below action stage and are expected to continue falling this afternoon, downstream impacts are expected to persist near Birdsprings through Monday morning. Officials warned that the river is expected to crest at Navajo Route 71 approximately 18 hours after the river crests at Winslow.
In Utah, moderate flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues in southeastern San Juan County and eastern Kane County. The San Juan River is forecast to continue rising and crest above moderate flood stage at Bluff later this evening into tonight. Downstream flooding is expected to continue to the terminus at Lake Powell through at least Tuesday morning. The river is currently running fast and high, making low-water crossings potentially impassable.
