Silverfield stated that the offensive performance was among the worst he has been a part of, specifically citing struggles in the first half. He attributed these issues to the team's inability to run the football effectively and noted that a turnover before halftime was inexcusable. He also mentioned that the offensive line needs to play better, noting that the right tackle was beaten due to improper footwork and the left tackle committed three penalties.
Regarding quarterback KJ Jackson, Silverfield said that Jackson did not appear timid and showed improvement in the second half. He noted that Jackson made a poor decision to throw the ball into the end zone before halftime when checkdowns were available. Silverfield also clarified that Jackson's performance was not related to splitting repetitions during fall camp.
Arkansas is scheduled to travel to Salt Lake City to play No. 21 Utah on Sept. 12. The game is set for a 9:15 p.m. CT kickoff with coverage on ESPN and the Razorback Sports Network.
