A nonprofit and volunteer fair was scheduled to take place on Monday, Sept. 28, at the Utah Tech University Gardner Center Ballroom, according to a September 8 report. The event was designed to connect Utah Tech students and community members with local organizations seeking volunteers, board members, and donated resources.
More than 40 nonprofit, government, and interfaith organizations were expected to host booths during the fair. Attendees could learn about various groups and identify service opportunities that matched their specific interests, skills, or schedules.
Organizers noted that the fair serves as a resource for families, youth groups, church groups, and businesses looking for group service projects. While the event offered free admission and parking, visitors were encouraged to bring donations for the Utah Tech Student Pantry. Requested items included individually packaged snacks and drinks, shelf-stable food, feminine hygiene products, reusable grocery bags, and gift cards for local restaurants, clothing retailers, or grocery stores.
The event was held at Utah Tech University, located at 225 South 700 East in St. George. The Chamber stated the fair provided an opportunity for residents to build relationships with nonprofit leaders to create a measurable community impact.
