Syracuse City is partnering with local elementary schools to distribute toys to children ages 5 to 12 during an upcoming holiday toy drive. The event is scheduled to take place from December 1 through December 14, 2026.
Donors can contribute by placing new, unwrapped toys in a donation bin located inside Syracuse City Hall. According to the city, these donations will be given to parents just before Christmas.
Generally accepted new and unwrapped items include board games, action figures, art supplies, sports equipment, Pokémon cards, remote-controlled cars, jump ropes, dinosaurs, science kits, bicycle helmets, dress-up clothes, and activity books. A wish list for specific items is expected to be released soon.
The toy drive has been described as immensely successful in the past due to support from Syracuse City residents. For questions or to select an item from the donation list, residents can call City Hall at 801-825-1477.
