The North Ogden City Council is scheduled to hold its annual strategic planning retreat on Nov. 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. According to an agenda published Oct. 29, the meeting will take place at the Public Safety Building located at 515 E 2600 N in North Ogden, Utah.
The retreat is designed to provide extended time for collaboration and long-term planning. Unlike regular City Council meetings, this session focuses on discussion and establishing strategic direction rather than formal Council action. The agenda includes a welcome by Mayor Barker and an invocation and pledge of allegiance led by Council Member Carney.
Scheduled discussions include a review of the city's four community pillars: Public Safety, Community Unity, Employees, and Economic Development. City staff will present information regarding progress and desired outcomes for these pillars. Additionally, City Manager/City Attorney Jon Call is scheduled to lead a discussion regarding ten-year city needs and plans, covering topics such as infrastructure, facilities, staffing, municipal services, and potential funding options.
The meeting will also address council priorities and strategic direction, including potential approaches and policy considerations. The agenda includes public comment periods for general city business, with a five-minute limit per speaker. The council will listen to comments and may provide brief factual responses or staff follow-up, but no final action will be taken on matters not listed on the agenda.
Public participation is available both in person and electronically. Residents may join the meeting via a webinar or watch the proceedings on YouTube. The city notes that the meeting may be extended or continue remaining business under adopted rules.
The meeting is scheduled to adjourn at 2:30 p.m. Individuals requiring accommodations to participate should contact the City Recorder at 801-782-7211 at least 48 hours before the meeting.
