Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...

Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Utah...

* Until 1230 PM MDT.

* At 933 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing

heavy rain in Springdale. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has

fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

Hurricane, La Verkin, Apple Valley, Virgin, Springdale and

Rockville. Flash flooding along the Virgin River has been observed

crossing roads, primarily SR-9 across multiple UDOT cameras in the

area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
