Utah State University enrolled a record 32,286 students this fall, marking an 8% increase over fall 2025, according to a report published October 29. The growth was driven by enrollment at the university's statewide campuses and through concurrent enrollment programs.
Enrollment at the university's statewide campuses rose 39%, while the Logan campus reported 15,563 undergraduates. Graduate enrollment saw a 1% increase. The new College of Veterinary Medicine experienced the largest growth, welcoming 76 students this fall.
Concurrent enrollment, which allows high school students to take USU courses for college credit, was a significant factor in the enrollment increase. Toni Gibbons, USU's director of concurrent enrollment, stated that Utah is a national frontrunner in concurrent enrollment. Katie Jo North, associate vice president of strategic enrollment management, cited the university's online and statewide options as key factors.
University data shows that 22% of new students are the first in their families to attend college.
While Utah State University saw significant gains, the fall headcount across Utah's public colleges and universities rose by 0.8%, with several schools reporting fewer students.
