A temporary area closure will be in place August 4 through August 6, 2026 for the Fall Creek drainage as Utah Division of Wildlife Resources continues a native cutthroat trout restoration project using rotenone. The area within 20 feet of Fall Creek, its tributaries, and Anderson and Phinney Lakes will be closed during treatment. This closure is to allow ground crews to work safely in and around the treated waters.

Fall Creek, Anderson and Phinney Lakes ClosurePROHIBITIONSPursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50 (a), the following is prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) lands in the Duchesne/Roosevelt Ranger District, Ashley National Forest, described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the “Described Area”):Going into or being upon the Described Area. 36 C.F.R. § 261.53 (e)EXEMPTIONSPursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2)Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.DESCRIBED AREA Within 20 feet of the following waters: Fall Creek and the associated unnamed seeps, springs, and tributaries, and Anderson and Phinney Lakes. The legal description for these waters is as follows: Township 4 North, Range 7 West, sections 27, 28, 32, 33; and Township 3 North, Range 7 West, sections 5 and 8 (Salt Lake City Baseline and Meridian). The area above described is within the proclaimed and administrative boundaries of the Ashley National Forest, within Duchesne County, State of Utah. (See

attached map)PURPOSEThe purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety as the Forest Service and the State of Utah carry out planned rotenone treatments to the area.IMPLEMENTATIONThis Order shall be in effect from August 4th 2026 at 0700 through August 6th at 1900, unless rescinded.A map identifying the Described Area is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A.
