Alpine School District is conducting an eligibility process for students seeking gifted services through the Advanced Learning Lab (ALL) Program for the 2027–2028 school year. In a notice on the district's website, the district opened registration for the A.L.L. Placement Testing Application.
Program eligibility is determined by a combination of cognitive and academic measures. Cognitive assessment is conducted using the CogAT. Academic measures include Acadience Reading and Acadience Math for 2nd grade, while 3rd through 7th grade students are evaluated using RISE. The IOWA assessment is administered for those students if state test scores are unavailable.
The testing schedule is divided into two primary windows. Students in grades 2, 6, and 7 are scheduled for testing between October 23 and November 9. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are scheduled for testing between February 23 and March 4. The district stated that specific details regarding testing dates, times, and locations will be sent to families as the assigned testing window approaches.
Following the fall testing window, assessment results are scheduled to be sent to families in mid-December. Official program invitations are scheduled to be sent via email on January 15 at 5:00 PM. Once invitations are received, placement invitations must be accepted by January 31 at 5:00 PM.
The district recommends that applicants complete the registration form on a computer or tablet rather than a mobile phone to ensure the application is processed properly. More information regarding gifted services and program options is available at alpineschools.org/page/gifted-services.
The registration window for the A.L.L. Placement Testing Application closed on October 16, 2026.
