Leo J. Butcher, 81, of Mayfield, passed away on June 11, 2026, surrounded by his family, according to an announcement from the Salina Sun. A retired driver for Robinson Transportation with more than 50 years of experience, Butcher was known for his passion for racing and old cars. He was scheduled for interment at the Mayfield Cemetery on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Honoring James R. Ariotti
James R. Ariotti, 71, passed away on June 13, 2026, Mitchell Funeral Home reported. A former weapons mechanic in the United States Air Force and an aviation enthusiast, Ariotti was known by friends and family as a skilled handyman who enjoyed teaching others how to fix broken items. Services for Ariotti are currently pending.
Legacy of Ken Terrel Nelson
Ken Terrel Nelson, of Redmond, died on the evening of June 9, 2026, at Utah Valley Hospital, according to the Salina Sun. Nelson, a former Redmond City Council member and President of the Brown’s Hole Grazing Association, was involved in the expansion of Nelson Sunbeam Coal and maintained various cattle and trucking operations. Funeral services for Nelson are scheduled for June 20, 2026, at the Redmond LDS Ward Chapel.
