The Grantsville City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, to discuss proposed amendments to the city's Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Council Chambers of Grantsville City Hall, located at 429 E. Main Street, and will also be available electronically via Zoom.
According to a notice published Oct. 14, the proposed amendments for the budget covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, include increased appropriations for several areas. These include general government professional services, dues and fees, library employee appreciation and grant expenditures, rodeo expenses, Building Department computer software, Community Development grant expenses, and Planning Commission stipends.
The amendments also propose reductions to salary appropriations for Parks and Recreation and Cemetery, alongside increases to Water and Sewer salary appropriations. Additionally, there is a corresponding reduction to the Water capital water line project appropriation and a reduction to the Sewer contribution to fund balance.
The proposed budget includes an increase to the General Fund balance, raising it from $1,593,698 to $1,665,104, an increase of $71,406. While total Water and Sewer fund budgets remain unchanged, there are adjustments to specific appropriations within those funds.
Publicly available copies of the proposed amendments can be inspected at Grantsville City Hall or on the city's website. The city council may consider adopting the proposed budget amendments following the conclusion of the public hearing.
Interested individuals may speak for or against the proposed amendments during the meeting. Written comments must be submitted to the City Recorder, Alicia Fairbourne, at afairbourne@grantsvilleut.gov before 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
