Washington Terrace City will hold a first public hearing regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program on Nov. 3, 2026, according to a Oct. 22 notice. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 5249 South 400 East.
The purpose of the hearing is to provide citizens with information about the CDBG program and to allow for discussion regarding possible projects. The session will cover expected funding allocations in the region, program requirements, and eligible activities.
If Washington Terrace City elects to apply for this funding, a second public hearing will be held at a later time to discuss specific projects.
Washington Terrace City is eligible to apply for funding under the CDBG Small Cities Program, which is a federally funded program administered by the State of Utah, Division of Housing and Community Development (HCD). Eligibility for the funding is contingent upon the city meeting applicable program requirements.
The CDBG Program can fund various activities, including the acquisition of real property, the construction of facilities such as fire stations or public works like sewer and water lines, and the provision of public services like homeless shelters or food banks.
Individuals requiring special accommodations, including auxiliary communicative aids and services, should notify City Recorder Amy Rodriguez at least three days prior to the hearing. Requests can be made at 5249 South 400 East, Washington Terrace, UT, 84405.
