The Grantsville City Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, to deliberate on a series of land use recommendations, including subdivision amendments and a new use classification for animal encounter facilities. The meeting, held at 429 East Main Street, follows a previous regular meeting held on Sept. 1, 2026.
Subdivision and Development Proposals
The upcoming meeting, as outlined in an amended agenda from the City of Grantsville, features several high-priority presentations and public hearings. One primary focus involves a recommendation regarding the second proposed Plat Amendment for the Stansbury Shadows Phase 3 Subdivision. This project is located approximately at 256 S. Liberty Landing.
Master Development Agreements
In addition to the Stansbury Shadows discussion, the commission will review a proposed Master Development Agreement with VT Grantsville Land Co, LLC. This agreement pertains to the Deseret Subdivision. The commission is also set to consider the first amendment to the Amended and Restated Master Development Agreement (ARMDA) for the Highlands Subdivision.
Zoning and Land Use Changes
The commission will also address a zoning rezone request for a property located at 848 N. Cooley Street. The proposal seeks to change the designation of the property from RR-2.5 to RR-1 for the Storybook Subdivision. If approved, this rezoning would result in approximately 6.34 acres being zoned RR-1.
Proposed Ordinance Amendments
Beyond specific development projects, the Planning Commission will consider legislative changes to the Grantsville Land Use Ordinance. The proposed amendments target Chapters 2, 8, and 15 of the ordinance. These changes are intended to establish a new use category specifically for Animal Encounters Facilities.

The meeting agenda, which was posted on the Grantsville City Hall Notice Boards, the State Public Notice website, and the Grantsville City website, includes standard administrative items. These include the approval of minutes from the Sept. 1, 2026, Planning Commission Regular Meeting and a report from City Staff.
