Duchesne County Clerk Chelise Curtis certified the list of qualified candidates for the upcoming November 3, 2026, general election in a statement released September 1. The certification confirms that the listed individuals are qualified for placement on the ballot within Duchesne County pursuant to Utah Code Annotated 20A-5a-210.
The certified candidates include several federal and state office seekers. For U.S. House of Representatives District 3, candidates include Kent S. Udell for Democratic, Cassie Easley for Constitution, Celeste Maloy for Republican, Ayden Scott for Unaffiliated, Michael R. Stoddard for Libertarian, and Adonis Hooslyn for Unaffiliated.
State office candidates include Ronald M. Winterton for Utah Senate District 20 and JR Bird for Utah House of Representatives District 67. For Utah House of Representatives District 68, the candidates are Scott H. Chew and Sonya Ray.
County offices listed include Tracy Killian for County Commissioner Seat A, Gregory Miles for County Commissioner Seat B, Stephen Foote for County Attorney, Chelise Curtis for County Clerk/Auditor, and Rick Coil for County Sheriff. Local School Board candidates include Tyler Powell and Tony L. Smith for District 1, Don Busenbark for District 2, and Emilee Serena Wells for District 3.
The ballot will also feature non-partisan judicial retention elections. Voters will decide whether to retain Justice Jill M. Pohlman for the Utah Supreme Court, as well as Michele M. Christiansen Forster, David Ned Mortensen, John David Luthy, Ryan M. Harris, Amy Jo Oliver, and Gregory Keith Orme for the Utah Court of Appeals.
Two proposed constitutional amendments appear on the ballot. Constitutional Amendment A would change how proposed amendments are published, requiring them to be posted on the Utah Public Notice Website and the Lieutenant Governor's website for 60 days before the election. Constitutional Amendment B would require a 60% voter approval for citizen-proposed laws that increase taxes compared to existing law, rather than a simple majority.
