Real Salt Lake is scheduled to host the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at America First Field. According to a report published Oct. 12, the midweek Western Conference match features a 7:30 p.m. MT kickoff and serves as a critical opportunity for RSL to improve its standing in the postseason race with only six regular season games remaining.
RSL enters the match with a 9-14-5 record and 32 points, currently sitting 12th in the West and 22nd in the Shield standings. The club aims to improve upon its 11-4-3 record on Utah soil this season. San Jose arrives as a Western Conference contender with a 13-8-7 record and 46 points, holding 4th place in the West and 9th in the Shield standings.
In their previous home match on Sept. 26, RSL defeated New England 3-0 at America First Field. During that match, 19-year-old Academy homegrown player Aiden Hezarkhani scored two minutes into the game. Sergi Solans, the 2026 RSL Golden Boot leader, scored two second-half goals, bringing his 2026 total to 15 goals across all competitions and 11 in MLS action.
The all-time series at America First Field shows RSL holds eight wins and three draws against five losses against the Earthquakes. Historically, San Jose leads the overall series with 15 wins, seven draws, and 13 losses against RSL, dating back to the club's 2005 expansion season. RSL has won three of its last four matchups against San Jose on Utah soil, with the Earthquakes last winning in Sandy in 2024.
The broadcast for Wednesday's match on Apple TV will feature Christian Miles and Kacey White on the English-language call, while Francisco X. Rivera provides Spanish-language analysis. KSL Radio's team includes David James and Jay Nolly, while Nelson Moran, in his 22nd season as the Spanish radio voice, will conduct the call alongside Willy Barrueta and Isidro López on KBMG Latino 106.3 FM.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again on Saturday, Oct. 31, at PayPal Park in San Jose. Tickets for the Wednesday match remain available via www.rsl.com/tickets.
