Cedar Valley High School announced several upcoming academic and community events for the month of September, including the commencement of sophomore college and career readiness meetings and a scheduled suicide awareness walk.
Sophomore Career Planning
Beginning on Sept. 8, school counselors will conduct College and Career Readiness (CCR) meetings for sophomores. These one-on-one sessions are designed to allow students to discuss their academic progress and future goals regarding college and career paths. The school has invited parents to participate in these meetings and provided a digital link for scheduling sessions with counselors.
College Application Season
The school is also preparing for the upcoming college application season. Officials indicated that students should monitor school announcements for information regarding upcoming college tours. Additionally, the school noted that Sept. 21 through Sept. 25 is designated as Utah College Application Week.
Deadlines and Holidays
Several critical deadlines and school schedule changes are noted for early September. Utah Valley University (UVU) has an admission application deadline on Sept. 2, followed by a Fall registration deadline on Sept. 7. The school will be closed on Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.
Community and Academic Events
Community and academic milestones are also scheduled for later in the month. On Sept. 10, the school will host a Suicide Awareness Walk, which includes food trucks at 6 p.m. followed by a walk at 8 p.m. Academic milestones include a term one mid-term on Sept. 16, while the senior graduation and a CCR assembly are scheduled for Sept. 22.
