Neal Jeffery Riding, a resident of Delta, Utah, has passed away, according to a November 1 obituary published by Olpin Stevens Funeral Home - Delta. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Delta 1st Ward Chapel located at 222 W 200 N.
Born on February 19, 1964, in Delta, Utah, Riding was the son of Lionel Kennard Riding and Marjorie Jeffery Riding. He was a 1982 graduate of Delta High School, where he participated in football and basketball. Riding worked at IPSC for over 29 years and was a 26-year member of the West Millard Sheriff's Posse Search and Rescue.
Riding was known by his family as Grandpa Neal, Nealdo, or Papa Nealdo. He was married to Patricia Smith Rich, following a previous marriage to Lisa Marie Lewis on December 29, 1981. His family includes his sons, Trevor Neal and Cole William, as well as Reygan Smith and Rett Mikel. He is survived by 24 grandchildren, including Brynlee Jaey, Baeyler C, Blake Brandon, Britton D, Brylee Kay, Bowen Lyle, Ridger Colt, Wakley Shannel, Staheli Ola, Keilty Niqole, Estie Adele, Gavin Neal, Ryatt Colden, Parkyr May, Nash Jacob, Palmer Nicholas, Blair Randy, Briar Layne, Fisher Todd, Connor Carson, Slade LaRue, Carson Kael, Koevy Rae, and Ryze Neal.
Riding was a talented mechanic who spent many hours working on cars at Riding Ford. He enjoyed rodeo, bareback riding, drag racing, hunting, fishing, and trips to Lake Powell with his family. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and was known for his love of reading, playing croquet, and watching sports on television. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kennard and Marjorie Riding, and his siblings, Cinda Riding and Steve (Spitty) Riding.
