Utah Military Academy has announced several upcoming events and academic updates in a recent newsletter. The academy highlighted upcoming homecoming festivities, athletic schedules, and important deadlines for students regarding the PSAT and academy applications.
The school's homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at UMA. Tickets cost $10 for individuals or $15 for couples and can be purchased at the front office or at the door. High school cadets may bring an outside guest with proper identification.
Academic and career opportunities include a District Academy information night hosted by Congressman Moore on Sept. 22 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the PSAT is scheduled for Oct. 21, with a registration deadline of Sept. 25 for interested students.
Athletic activities for the Thunderbirds include various matchups in baseball, volleyball, soccer, football, cross country, and bowling. A fundraising drive for the shooting sports athletes is also underway through Oct. 12, collecting donations for Savers Discount store to fund supplies and entry fees.
The academy is also conducting an open house for prospective new cadets on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The School Land Trust committee will hold a meeting on Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. in the main office, which is open to interested parents.
