'Gaining an honor': St. George native serves aboard U.S. Navy floating airport

Seaman Tanner Orth, a native of St. George, Utah and 2024 Snow Canyon High School alum, serves aboard USS Nimitz, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier operating out of Norfolk, Virginia, and named in honor of Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz. ‘Long overdue’: Enterprise historical marker venerates Civilian Conservation Corps workers, camp

In honor of the Civilian Conservation Corps and the workers who came from far away to help provide infrastructural support, the city of Enterprise and the Washington County Historical Society erected a monument on Oct. 28 outside the city offices. Many of the CCC workers who came to Enterprise established families there or nearby who hoped to see their legacies honored.
