The Vernal City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on November 10, 2026, to consider several requests to amend the Vernal City Planning and Zoning Code. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Vernal City Council Chambers, located at 374 East Main Street in Vernal, Utah.
The hearing will address several ordinances proposed by Braeden Christofferson, Assistant City Manager and Planning Director. The requests involve amending various sections of the Vernal City Planning and Zoning Code, including Section 16.08 regarding Planning Commission subsections 16.08.020, 16.08.025, and 16.08.040 via Ordinance # 2026-31. Additionally, the commission will consider Ordinance # 2026-32 to amend Section 16.20.695 regarding Urban Farms and Livestock.
Other proposed changes include Ordinance # 2026-33 to amend Section 16.04.005 concerning Planning and Zoning Definitions. The commission will also review Ordinance # 2026-34 to amend Section 16.48.030 regarding Uses, and Ordinance # 2026-35 to amend Section 16.50.020 regarding Uses.
Property owners and interested individuals are encouraged to attend the hearing to provide comments. Written comments must be submitted to the Vernal City Planning Department at 374 East Main, Vernal UT 84078, no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 9, 2026, to be included in the public record. Any written objections filed with the municipality will be provided to the municipal legislative body for consideration.
