In a social media announcement on July 14, 2026, Ronald A. Rasband shared that the missionary force has officially surpassed 88,500 individuals. This figure represents the largest number of full-time missionaries in the history of the Church.

The surge in missionary numbers follows a recent prediction by President Dallin H. Oaks. According to posts from Rasband on both X and Instagram, President Oaks had previously shared that the Church would see its largest number of full-time missionaries in the coming weeks.
Expansion of Mission Infrastructure
To manage this unprecedented growth, the Church has implemented structural changes to its missionary program. As previously announced by the Church, 55 new missions were recently created specifically to accommodate the increasing number of missionaries entering the field.

Rasband attributed this period of growth to the devotion of a rising generation of disciples. He specifically noted the significant presence of 18-year-old sister missionaries who are currently entering their mission service.
