Search efforts are underway for Gerald Guinn, an 8 3-year-old of Kanab, Utah, who went missing on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
At approximately 5 p.m. on July 21, the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report from an individual stating he had become separated from his hiking partner. The pair was hiking in a remote area near the northeast boundary of the park along Forest Service Road 610 (Dog Saddle).
The search, which began on July 21, involves personnel from Grand Canyon National Park, Coconino County Search and Rescue, and Kane County Search and Rescue. Operations on July 22 focused on ground searches along with aerial searches utilizing helicopters and drones.
Guinn is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 140 lbs., with gray hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a tan long sleeved shirt, and a ball cap. He was not carrying any camping equipment or hiking gear.
