Santa Clara City has commenced its annual slurry seal program as of May 12, 2026. The city has contracted with American Pavement Preservation to perform the work, which is expected to continue through approximately May 24, 2026.
Residents living on streets affected by the project are advised not to park on their streets during the construction period.
The slurry seal process involves applying a thin mixture of sand and asphalt emulsion to road surfaces. This application is intended to improve neighborhood appearance while protecting and preserving asphalt roadways to extend pavement life.
To assist with the project, notices will be posted on the doors of affected residents the night before their specific street is scheduled for work. However, the city noted that the schedule may change because of mechanical issues or weather conditions.
The city expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of residents during this project.
