Sandy City has released information regarding its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, detailing funding amounts and upcoming public participation opportunities. According to a notice on the city's website, the city is preparing for several key milestones related to the 2025 and 2026 program years.
For the 2026 program year, Sandy City received $374,728 in CDBG funds and reprogrammed $54,668.24 in prior year funds. The city expects to receive approximately $350,000 for the 2026 program year. A public hearing to review community needs is scheduled for September 16, 2026, by the CDBG Committee. Following this, a funding request application will be available in November 2026, with a pre-application deadline set for December 14, 2026.
Regarding the 2025 program year, the city received $355,402 in CDBG funds, bringing the total allocation to $382,471.20 when including prior year funds. A draft of the year-end report (CAPER) will be available for public review from September 11, 2026, through September 27, 2026. A public hearing to review the CAPER is scheduled for September 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM in conference room #220 at City Hall, located at 10000 S. Centennial Parkway.
In previous years, the city received $331,965 in CDBG funds for the 2024 program year and $337,223 for the 2023 program year. Additionally, the city was awarded $490,797 in CARES Act funds through the CDBG program, which were fully expended as of June 2024.
