A vehicle caught fire following a crash at the intersection of Mall Drive and Riverside Drive in St. George. The incident involved a distracted driver who rear-ended a stopped vehicle.
The St. George Police Department stated that the driver of a Hyundai was traveling northbound on Mall Drive when he looked at his phone. According to a statement from the police department, the driver realized a Mazda was stopped at the intersection only after looking back up, making him unable to stop before rear-ending the Mazda.
The impact caused the Hyundai to catch fire. While the crash resulted in no injuries, the St. George Police Department said the driver of the Hyundai was cited for careless driving.
