Syracuse, Utah — The new Antelope Island State Park Visitor Center and Theater are open!
“We are thrilled to welcome everyone to the new Antelope Island Visitor Center and Theater,” Utah State Parks Director Scott Strong said. “We invite visitors to stop by and learn more about this incredible park in this state-of-the-art building.”
Visitor and Learning Center
The Antelope Island Visitor and Learning Center boasts all-new exhibits and amenities. Once a tiny 5,000 sq ft Visitor Center, the combined buildings now total 33,000 sq ft and offer plenty of opportunities to explore.
Dive into interactive exhibits that cover topics like Great Salt Lake, brine shrimp, geology, wildlife, dark skies, Indigenous connections to the park and more. Take a seat and take in expansive views of the park in the learning lounge, where the park will host ranger programs. Finish your visit with an expanded gift shop.
Want to hold an event or host a field trip? The building is now home to two classrooms and two conference spaces available for rent and reservations. Whether you’re here for your school, conference or wedding, Antelope Island State Park is the perfect place for your next event.
Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Theater
The Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Theater at Antelope Island features a state-of-the-art giant movie screen and over 200 seats where park staff plan to host programs and movie screenings. During operating hours, both “Secrets of Great Salt Lake” and “Keepers of Water, a film of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation” run hourly, helping visitors learn more about Great Salt Lake, the history of the people who call it home and its importance to the state.
Background
The Antelope Island Visitor Center and Theater wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our state legislators, partners and stakeholders. This project has been years in the making and is the culmination of the efforts of multiple state, county, tribal and private partners. The Utah State Parks team is excited to take this next step into the future, one where this new facility offers memorable visits and educational experiences for millions of visitors for years to come.
