Construction is underway at the Ameyalli Resort & Residences in Midway, Utah, as developers break ground on a new residential well-being destination centered around historic geothermal hot springs. The project includes a 50,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor Wellbeing Center anchored by a unique subterranean mineral pool and a 55-acre natural geological preserve.
Project Vision and Goals
The development, which is currently in the construction phase, aims to establish a premier geothermal springs resort by preserving the historical legacy of the Midway site. According to the developer and managing partner Charles "Chuck" Heath, the intent is to create one of the finest geothermal springs resorts in the United States.
Residential Community Features
Ameyalli Resort & Residences is designed as a transformative residential well-being community. The property will feature a biodiverse garden intended to support a garden-to-table dining experience and a geothermal water circuit that includes an outdoor sauna, sunken lounges, and a raw-edge water sanctum designed to merge with the local landscape.
Wellbeing Center Details
The resort's Wellbeing Center will serve as the property's focal point, offering treatments inspired by the chemical composition of the local springs. The water contains Calcium, Magnesium, and Bicarbonates, which have influenced the resort's proprietary wellness elements known as Harmony, Vitality, and Flourish.
Fitness and Recovery Amenities
In addition to the mineral pools, the center will provide dedicated spaces for functional fitness, a large Yoga and Pilates studio, an outdoor movement lawn, and two pickleball courts. The facility is also designed to include thoughtfully programmed healing and recovery sanctuaries.
Dining and Culinary Program
Dining at the resort will be anchored by a signature garden-to-table restaurant located at the ground level of the Wellbeing Center. The restaurant is designed to feature cinematic views and a layout that merges indoor and outdoor environments, providing space for both large-scale gatherings and intimate celebrations.
Expertise of Chef Charlie Palmer
The food and beverage program will benefit from the involvement of Chef Charlie Palmer. As noted by the development team, Palmer—whose career includes 20 Michelin stars and multiple James Beard Awards—will provide input on all aspects of the hospitality and dining programs through his company, Appellation.
The development team for Ameyalli includes several specialized international and local firms. Overland Partners, an international architecture and master planning firm, is tasked with the project's design. The firm, which has received over 200 international and national design awards, focuses on human-centered architecture and environmental sensitivity.
Interior design services will be provided by Alder and Tweed, a Utah-based luxury design firm headquartered in Park City. Founded in 2008, the firm specializes in high-end residential and hospitality spaces across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Additionally, the project utilizes the expertise of Under a Tree, a wellness-focused company that provides specialized services for destination spas and wellness immersions to ensure the delivery of innovative guest experiences.
Developer Charles Heath, the former CEO and founder of Horizon Design, initiated the project after acquiring the thermal springs site in Midway. Heath's professional background includes managing a portfolio of properties valued at more than $500 million and most recently working on the $75 million Kings Crown Development at the base of Park City Mountain.
The resort is offering 1/8th shared ownership opportunities starting from $400,000.
