Austin FC opened the scoring in the 52nd minute when Jorge Alastuey found the net. Real Salt Lake responded quickly to take the lead. Saba Lobzhanidze scored in the 55th minute following an assist from Juan Manuel Sanabria. Real Salt Lake extended their lead in the 61st minute when Morgan Guilavogui scored, assisted by Sergi Solans.
In addition to the scoring, several yellow cards were issued during the match. Morgan Guilavogui received a caution in the 35th minute, Damian Las was cautioned in the 60th minute, and Jorge Alastuey received a yellow card in the 77th minute.
