The Utah County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Oct. 20, 2026, to consider a proposed amendment to the Utah County Land Use Ordinance, according to a public notice published Oct. 9. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in Room 1400 of the Utah County Administration Building.
The hearing will address a request from the Salem Park Residents and Wildlife Coalition regarding a proposed text amendment to Section 8.44 of the Utah County Land Use Ordinance. The proposal seeks to either designate electric power transmission and distribution lines of 345 kV and over within a new transmission corridor as a permitted conditional use in any zone, or propose additional or amended development standards for electric power transmission lines of 345 kV and over and their associated substations.
The meeting will take place at 100 East Center Street, Suite 1400, in Provo, Utah. While the proceedings can be viewed live on YouTube via the UTAH COUNTY GOVERNMENT channel, participation in the public hearing requires being present in person at the scheduled time and location.
Individuals requiring special accommodations, such as auxiliary communicative aids or services, should notify Joshua Ivie at 801-851-8343. The building provides a level entrance and handicap parking, and interpretation services are available with prior notice for the hearing disabled.
Written comments or information related to the agenda items must be submitted to planningcommission@utahcounty.gov no later than 1:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. The commission will not accept written comments or materials during the meeting itself.
