Member eligibility and residency requirements
To qualify for appointment, individuals must meet specific residency and voter requirements. Each member must reside in the unincorporated County and be a registered voter within the special service district. Requirements also allow for officers or employees of the county or municipality that created the district to serve. In cases where more than 50% of residences within the district are seasonally occupied, land owners or agents of land owners receiving services from the district may be appointed, provided the number of such members does not comprise a quorum of the board.
