Pineview Reservoir Access Changes
At Pineview Reservoir, the U.S. Forest Service reported that the Anderson Cove boat launch has been closed since July 20, 2026. While the closure affects motorized launching, the agency noted that campground and day-use areas remain open for camping, picnicking, and non-motorized watercraft access as long as conditions allow.
Infrastructure Upgrades Underway
The Forest Service also confirmed that the Port Ramp Marina, Pineview Trail, and Windsurfer Beach areas are currently closed due to an ongoing reconstruction project. The project, which is scheduled to continue through 2026, involves building a new road, constructing the New Point day-use site, and improving the Port Boat Ramp with new fee stations and aquatic species inspection areas.
Causey Reservoir Road Closures
Visitors to Causey Reservoir should prepare for travel delays due to active construction. According to Visit Ogden, Wheatgrass Road has been closed since July 17, 2026, and is expected to remain closed until May 15, 2027. Additionally, motorists can expect one-lane traffic with flaggers on Causey Road, and the Beaver Creek Bridge is scheduled for a full closure for approximately three weeks in November.

Environmental conditions across Utah also remain a point of concern. Visit Utah issued a fast flow alert, noting that storms across the state have increased the potential for flash floods and fast-moving rivers in certain areas. The agency also advised residents to practice fire safety and monitor active wildfire locations.

Despite various site-specific restrictions, many Northern Utah landmarks remain accessible for summer recreation. The Great Salt Lake State Park campground remains open year-round, and the Cemetery Point boat launch at Pineview Reservoir continues to operate, though officials are monitoring water levels closely to determine when low water may eventually prevent launching.
