Springville has announced a variety of community events and seasonal updates in a report published October 1. The schedule includes museum exhibits, holiday celebrations, and seasonal maintenance such as irrigation shut-offs and holiday garbage route adjustments.
The Springville Museum of Art will host several events and exhibitions. Nerd Night was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2, from 5:30-8 p.m., featuring cosplay and movie trivia. The 40th Annual Spiritual & Religious Art of Utah exhibition is scheduled to run from October 16 through January 13, 2027. Additionally, the In This Together exhibit will run from November 18, 2026, through July 3, 2027. Other museum activities include the Halloween Party on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 4-6:30 p.m., and Santa’s Art Workshop on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 5-7 p.m.
Springville Library will celebrate its 15th anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m. The library will also host a Día de los Muertos community ofrenda from November 2 through November 7 during operating hours. The Winter Reading Kickoff, titled Yeti, Set, Readathon, is scheduled for Monday, November 30, from 4-6 p.m.
The city has issued several seasonal notices. A tentative date for shutting off pressurized irrigation is October 15, though this may shift based on weather. Mayor Matt Packard noted that several major road projects have been underway, including work related to the new Springville High School and water service improvements along Canyon Road. For holiday waste collection, garbage service will be delayed one day on Thursday, Nov. 26, for Thanksgiving, with Thursday routes being collected on Friday, Nov. 27. No delays are expected for Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, or for Christmas Day on Friday, Dec. 25, 2026, and New Year's Day on Friday, Jan. 1, 2027.
The community is working to raise $140,000 for a Veterans Wall of Honor to recognize veterans interred in Springville’s two cemeteries. To date, $85,000 has been raised, leaving $55,000 remaining for the project. Residents can submit names for inclusion on the walls until December 1, 2026.
Springville Fire & Rescue reminds residents to inspect chimneys annually and keep flammable items at least three feet away from heat sources as temperatures drop.
