Salina City has unveiled a full lineup of events for its upcoming Independence Day celebration scheduled for July 3 and July 4, 2026. The two-day extravaganza features a combination of Western rodeo action, community breakfasts, and patriotic ceremonies designed to honor the nation's freedom.
Wednesday Rodeo and Street Dance
The festivities are set to begin on Wednesday, July 3, with the Salina Independence Day Rodeo. Hosted by the Salina Riding Club, the rodeo will take place at the Salina Outdoor Arena located at 600 East Main Street. The event is scheduled to start at 7:45 PM.
Following the rodeo on Wednesday night, the community will host a Street Dance on Main Street. This event features live music and is sponsored by SUFCO Mine.
July 4th Morning Breakfast Details
The morning of July 4 begins with a 6:00 AM 'Dynamite Blast' intended to mark the start of the holiday. Shortly after, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the city will host the Annual 4th of July Breakfast at the North Sevier Middle School Pavilion. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, eggs, and ham. Pricing for the meal is set at $5 for children and $10 for adults.
Midday Activities and Tournaments
The North Sevier Middle School campus will serve as a primary hub for daytime activities. In addition to the breakfast, the site will host a Flag Ceremony and the NS Crimson Cornhole Tournament. Participants in the cornhole tournament can sign up until 9:00 AM on July 4, with an entry fee of $20 cash per person and prizes available for winners.
Children's Games and Fire Department
Children's programming at the North Sevier Middle School site will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, featuring various games and activities. These include Kids Races and a Greased Pole event presented by the Salina Fire Department.
Afternoon Concert and Swimming
Afternoon events on July 4 include a free swim at the Salina City Swimming Pool from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Residents can also attend a Free Patriotic Concert, featuring strings and vocals, held at Faith Baptist Church located at 165 S. 400 B. from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Independence Day Parade Schedule
The Independence Day Parade is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM. The parade will line up on 400 East before marching down Salina's Main Street, showcasing various floats and bands.
