The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has signed a decision approving the proposed action for the Yergensen Well Pad project. The approval, which was signed on July 21, 2026, follows the completion of the environmental assessment process.
Proposed by Fourpoint Resources, LLC, the project involves drilling six horizontal oil wells from the Yergensen Well Pad. These operations will take place on private surface land to produce from existing federal mineral leases.
The project is located in Duchesne County near Roosevelt, Utah. The environmental assessment, decision record, and finding of no significant impact were uploaded to the BLM NEPA Register on July 22, 2026.
As part of the NEPA process, the BLM utilized public participation to satisfy requirements under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. This process was intended to help identify and evaluate potential impacts to cultural resources within the area of affect.
The NEPA process for this project reached completion on July 21, 2026. The lead office for this undertaking is the Vernal Field Office.
