The Tooele Sheriff’s Office announced that Lofgreen residents were permitted to return home at 12:00 pm on June 29. Following the update, the evacuation status for these residents changed from go to set.
While Lofgreen residents may return, Vernon residents remain in go status and are advised not to return to their homes at this time.
Road closures remain in effect due to fire activity and ongoing operations. Highway 36 is closed from Tintic Junction to just west of Brush Creek, and Chimney Rock Pass Road also remains closed.
Fire behavior has moderated over the past two days because of cooler temperatures, but officials noted that hotter and dryer weather is expected to return to the area later this week. This shift in weather could result in changes to evacuation levels, re-entry decisions, and road statuses.
Residents are encouraged to monitor official sources including Utah Fire Info on Facebook and X, the Juab County Sheriff’s Office and Tooele County Sheriff's Office Facebook pages, the Eureka City website, and Tooele County Emergency Management Alerts.
