Early life and marriage
Born on May 12, 1937, in Wells, Nevada, Dellos spent much of his early life in the Idaho railroad town of Picabo. The son of Peter Dellos and Caroline Gohl, he attended school in Carey, Idaho, after a 10-mile daily commute. It was during his time as a student in Carey that he met his wife, Karen Elizabeth Adamson, who was a student in her mother's third-grade class at the time.
Marriage and temple service
The couple shared a long life together, marrying in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1957, one day after Karen graduated from high school. The pair recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on May 12, 2026. Beyond their marriage, Dellos noted that his greatest joy was serving alongside his wife as ordinance workers for more than 20 years in the Manti, Utah Temple.
Education and teaching career
Dellos earned a degree in Education from the University of Idaho. His professional career spanned more than 30 years, during which he taught in Waitsburg, Washington, as well as Melba and Burley, Idaho. In Utah, his teaching career included roles at Emery High School in Castledale, Huntington Jr. High, and Ferron Jr. High, where he primarily focused on Biology and Vocational Agriculture.
Civic involvement and community roles
In addition to his teaching career, Dellos was an active participant in the FFA program. His commitment to public service extended to various civic roles, including serving on the Orangeville City Council and the Emery County Planning Commission. He also held positions with the LDS Bishop Storehouse and served as Secretary for the German From Russian Heritage Society for several years.

Dellos was preceded in death by his father, Peter Dellos; his mother, Caroline Gohl; his sister, Marie Hennefer; his brother, Peter Dellos; and his son, Scott Dellos. He is survived by his wife, Karen Elizabeth Adamson; his daughter, Linnette Deason of Provo, and her husband Mark; his son, Steven William Dellos; his brother, David John Dellos; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements and services
Funeral services for Dellos were scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santaquin, Utah. A viewing was planned for earlier that morning from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment was set to take place at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Services were prepared by Brown Family Mortuary in Santaquin.
