Park City Opera announced a 16-event summer season for 2026 that featured two fully staged mainstage operas. The programming included a new weekly outdoor concert series and various community events held across several Park City venues.
The season featured Aaron Copland's The Tender Land and Charles Gounod's Roméo et Juliette. The Tender Land was performed on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Temple Har Shalom. This production was sung in English and accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
Roméo et Juliette was performed at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, August 21, 2026, and Sunday, August 23, 2026. This production was sung in French with English supertitles and featured a twelve-voice chorus, a forty-piece orchestra, and ballet dancers.
A new addition to the season was the Opera Around the World concert series. This free weekly series was held every Monday evening from July 13 through August 24 at the City Park Bandstand. The performances featured selections of opera, art song, and chamber works performed by members of the Park City Opera Artists Collective.
Additional programming included performances at the Promontory Club's outdoor amphitheater and the return of the Opera on the Patio series at the Park City Library. An educational lecture on opera history was also held at the Park City Museum.
Artistic Director and Co-founder Benjamin Beckman described the season as the company's most ambitious yet. Development Director and Co-founder Lisl Wangermann stated that the mission was to make opera feel welcoming and alive.
