High pressure centered over southern Utah will keep conditions dry and mild for Utah and southwest Wyoming through the weekend. Temperatures are expected to continue trending slightly upward for Sunday.
A weakening trough is projected to move into the Great Basin, crossing Utah from Monday night through Tuesday. This system is expected to bring a slight decrease in moisture and spotty light precipitation. The National Weather Service indicates a 15-25% chance of the mountains seeing 0.05 inches of precipitation or greater, while the valleys face a 5% chance or less.
Conditions are expected to remain dry for the remainder of the work week with mild temperatures. High pressure is anticipated to rebound for late week ahead of a potentially stronger trough for the weekend or early next week. Global ensemble cluster analysis suggests a trough may develop during that timeframe, though timing and strength remain uncertain.
VFR conditions are expected to persist for the Salt Lake City terminal and the rest of the Utah and southwest Wyoming airspace. Dry and stable conditions with light, diurnally driven winds and a few high clouds are forecast for the area.
