GHID is currently implementing various infrastructure updates to ensure the longevity of water and sanitary wastewater services. The District's ongoing efforts focus on addressing problematic areas within crucial systems to prevent expensive emergency repairs caused by pipe collapses or breaks.
While performing these improvements, the District intends to minimize disruptions to customers and has requested patience during the construction processes.
Several active and recent projects are underway across different locations. For the 4100 South Waterline Replacement between Bangerter Highway and 5600 West, the contractor is beginning to install loops on the 16 and 20-inch transmission line in preparation for storm drain laterals. This work is scheduled to occur in the middle of the road over the winter.
In the MVC Waterline Betterments project, waterline improvements within the 3500 South right-of-way are currently in progress. Additionally, for the Well No 8 Chlorinator Replacement, Corrio Construction, Inc. is preparing submittals for District Review.

The Printers Row Waterline Replacement Project experienced a work suspension due to weather conditions starting December 18, 2019, though the contractor had previously completed watermain installation on 1800 West Street.
The Hillsdale WWPS Decommissioning and Gravity Sewer project is substantially complete, with all sewer service laterals connected to the new main and the Hillsdale Lift Station removed.
The 2200 West Waterline Project plans and specifications were submitted to the Utah Division of Drinking Water for review in late 2019.
Many of these infrastructure improvements are partially funded by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program through the Environmental Protection Agency and the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.
