Firefighters battling the Wide Mouth 2 Fire in Millard County increased containment Wednesday as crews took advantage of cooler temperatures and reduced fire activity, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
As of Wednesday evening, the fire had burned 5,926 acres and was 15% contained.
The fire is located in the Kanosh area of Millard County. While crews were able to make progress during cooler periods, officials warned that hotter weather may increase fire activity.
