The Henefer Town Council will hold a regular meeting on Oct. 6, 2026, according to a notice published Oct. 2. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Henefer Town Office, located at 150 West Center Street, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several discussion items. The council will hear from the North Summit Fire District regarding a lifesaving award and will see Steve Dallin present community service awards. Additionally, the council plans to welcome Trace Richins as the town's full-time employee to discuss his progress and goals. Other discussion topics include excavation permits and requirements for boring versus open trenches, secondary water during the summer, and the town farm store.
The meeting will include an action item to adopt Robyn Knudsen as Treasurer and a review of the minutes from the Sept. 1, 2026, Town Council meeting. Mason Kjar is scheduled to undergo legal counsel training during the session. A closed session is planned to discuss possible pending litigation and negotiations for an annexation contract.
Reports will be provided by various council members and staff, including Rush Hotchkiss for Parks, Steven Dallin for Cemetery, Chad West for Water and Sewer Utilities, Mayor Kay H. Richins for Streets, and Alec Deru for Water and Sewer Utilities, as well as Ty Bailey. The meeting will also include an opening ceremony featuring a call to order, a legislative prayer, and the pledge of allegiance.
