Early life and education
Born on March 28, 1982, to Reed and Paulette McKenna, Logan grew up in Logan with his sisters, Elise and Taren. He graduated summa cum laude from Utah State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering before attending medical school at Washington University in St. Louis.

Following a residency in General Surgery in Denver, Colorado, he returned to Cache Valley to serve as a General Surgeon with Intermountain Healthcare and as the Trauma Director at Logan Regional Hospital. He was noted by colleagues for his knowledgeable presence and kind bedside manner.

Beyond his medical career, McKenna was an avid adventurer who had summited the highest point in each of the fifty U.S. states and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. He also found great joy in music, having participated in musical theater and an a cappella group called Chordless FM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Hyde Park Stake Center, located at 535 E. 200 S., Hyde Park, Utah.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 20, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow the services at Hyde Park Cemetery.
