The Huntington 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting neighbors, families, and friends to participate in various faith-based activities. A worship service is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 240 North Main Street in Huntington, Utah.
The scheduled Sunday service is intended for worshiping Jesus Christ through uplifting messages and finding peace. Following the main worship service, which is referred to as sacrament meeting, the congregation holds various classes for adults, youth, and children. During sacrament meeting, members engage in songs, prayers, and sermons given by different members of the congregation. A central part of this meeting involves members taking the sacrament to remember the Savior.
Beyond Sunday services, the local church community engages in several cultural traditions and customs focused on the family. These include weekly home evenings or family nights, as well as various gatherings such as youth groups for teenagers, potlucks, or small parties. Additionally, members may celebrate holidays with their families or offer blessings for new babies during church services. On the first Sunday of every month, members participate in fasting together.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints emphasizes living the gospel of Jesus Christ to find strength and peace. The organization provides structure and priesthood authority for practices such as baptism and taking the sacrament. Lifestyle practices for members include avoiding work on Sundays to focus on church attendance, service, and family time. Faithful members also avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, or gambling.
The Huntington 2nd Ward website serves as a resource for information on local services and community activities. Visitors are encouraged to RSVP to join the community in its various gatherings.
