Jillian Glasser has served as a Study Abroad Advisor at the Office of Global Engagement since August 2025. Glasser brings significant international experience to her role, having spent time in various locations across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Her background includes time spent in Japan, Egypt, Senegal, Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, the UK, Israel, and the UAE.
Origins of interest in exchange
Glasser's interest in international exchange began in 2017 during a summer in Kitakyushu, Japan, through the non-profit organization Youth for Understanding. In 2018, she lived and attended school in Nittenau, Germany.
Academic credentials and education
She holds a Masters of Arts in Humanities, German and Japanese from The University of Chicago, which she completed in 2024. She also earned a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and Japanese from Western Michigan University in 2022.

As an advisor, Glasser is available to discuss travel plans with prospective study abroad students. She is able to provide advising in English, German, or Japanese.
