The Riverton City Planning Commission is scheduled to meet on Oct. 8, 2026, to address multiple public hearing items and proposed changes to local land use regulations. According to a notice posted Oct. 6, the meeting will begin at 6:30 PM at 12830 S. Redwood Road in Riverton.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several public hearings regarding specific property applications. Justin Christensen has applied for a conditional use permit for Millhand Company, involving a home occupation for producing wood crafts from a garage at 3637 West Roy Lane. Additionally, Julie Hekking has submitted an application to amend a commercial site plan for Walmart at 1202 West 12600 South to include electric vehicle charging stations.
Other items on the agenda involve zoning changes and city code updates. Kerry Jorgensen has filed an application to rezone approximately 3.96 acres located at 12007 South Reeves Lane from A-5 (Agricultural 5-acres) to R-3 (Single-family Residential 14,000 sf minimum lot size). The commission will also consider a Residential Facilities Ordinance Amendment, which proposes changes to Riverton City Code, Title 18 Land Use and Development.
The meeting will also include the approval of minutes from the Sept. 10, 2026, meeting. Riverton City Hall is an accessible facility, and individuals requiring special accommodations or assistance are asked to notify the City Recorders Office at 801-208-3126 at least two business days before the meeting. Accessible parking and entrance are located on the south end of the building with elevator access to the second floor.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 12830 S. Redwood Road, Riverton, UT 84065. Jamie Larsen, the Recorder for Riverton City, certified that the agenda was emailed to the Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, and the South Valley Journal at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
