Matchup against Utah Tech

For the third consecutive year, BYU will host an FCS team at 6 p.m. to open the season.

BYU is 1-0 all-time against Utah Tech. The previous meeting took place in 2022, with BYU taking down the Trailblazers, 52-26. It was BYU’s final home game as an FBS Independent.

Utah Tech is preparing for a move to the Big Sky Conference beginning this fall.

The Trailblazers are coached by Lance Anderson, a former defensive coordinator at Stanford. Anderson is entering his third season at Utah Tech.

Matchup against Arizona

The networks give BYU versus Arizona a prime spot in the week two calendar on FOX.

Kalani Sitake is a perfect 5-0 against the Arizona Wildcats during his time as the head coach of the BYU football program.

Last season’s game in Tucson was a thriller as BYU escaped with a 33-27 victory in double overtime.

This has the potential to be a top-25 matchup in week two of the season. Arizona won nine games last year, and they return First Team All-Big 12 quarterback Noah Fifita for his senior season.

Matchup against Colorado State

The Pac-12 Conference is back, and one of the members is Colorado State. BYU travels to the Front Range and will play on CBS. The Pac-12 TV deal is part of CBS, CW, and USA.

An old rivalry returns for BYU football this fall, as they travel to Fort Collins to take on the Colorado State Rams.

It’s the first meeting between the old WAC and Mountain West rivals since 2010, when they were league foes.

Now they meet again as members of the Big 12 and Pac-12.

BYU leads the all-time series against Colorado State 39-27-3.

This is the first of a two-game series that will see Colorado State return to Provo in 2029.

BYU vs. Iowa State

Date: Friday, October 9, 2026

Matchup against Iowa State

BYU will host Iowa State in a Friday night doubleheader on October 9.

BYU earned its first-ever victory over Iowa State last season, defeating the Cyclones 41-27 in Ames.

The all-time series still remains in favor of Iowa State at 5-1. Iowa State’s last visit to Provo was a good one for the Cyclones as they rolled through BYU to the tune of a 45-13 victory in 2023.

Jimmy Rogers is gearing up for his first year as the Iowa State head coach, replacing Matt Campbell, who left for Penn State. Rogers was previously at Washington State and, before that, was an FCS National Champion at South Dakota State.
