Students and staff from Sunset Junior High School recently took part in the Law Enforcement Torch Relay alongside the Davis County Sheriff's Office. The event was held to support the Special Olympics.
The relay brought together educators, students, and first responders to promote inclusion and celebrate individuals with intellectual disabilities while building community connections.
The event featured participation from local first responders. Sunset Junior High expressed gratitude to the Davis County Sheriff's Office and local first responders for helping create a memorable experience for students.
Driver-educator Paul Petroff accompanied his son Jeremiah, a graduate of the Davis School District’s Vista Program, during the relay.
The relay served as an effort to carry the torch for community support, belonging, and inclusion.
