Boulder Town is proposing to increase its property tax revenue.
Boulder Town tax on a $300,000 residence would increase from $29.04 to $82.83 which is $53.79 per year.
Boulder Town tax on a $300,000 business would increase from $52.80 to $150.60 which is $97.80 per year.
If the proposed budget is approved, Boulder Town would receive an additional $12,897 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, Boulder Town would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 184.68% above last year’s property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.
Boulder Town seeks the additional property tax revenue to enhance technological infrastructure for community engagement. Proposed projects include ADA-compliant website redevelopment, a notification system for emergency alerts and routine notifications, a meeting management platform to improve pre-, during-, and post-meeting materials and efficiency for members and the public, updating the software needs related to municipal ordinance management, and integrating the initiatives for ease of use and searchability across platforms as outlined in the Property Tax Impact Schedule.
Boulder Town invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or virtually.
